smell gas in air ventilation
about 2 weeks ago, my heat died (shortly after a full tune up). at the tune up shop, they told me i needed new oil-filter o-rings but i didn't have the money to fix it so i skipped it. now whenever i turn on any air, i smell a hint of gas. does the smell have something to do with the oil filter?

Sounds like the Pulse dampener again, Just do a search on it. But I wouldn't drive around until I found out why I'm smellling gas in an S4 (you do have an 87 right?).
These thing are notorious for catching on fire when the PD fails.
What I dont get is your shop telling you about an oil filter O ring. I just dont see what it has to do with your heat.
Good luck

ok i found it, baldy had posted a pic on nopistons
http://www.nopistons.com/forums/uplo...1065223847.jpg
i started the car and managed to get my hand down there without burning myself on the coolant cap, and it pulsates. drove it around, popped hood, no gas leaks or puddles. the only fluid leak i found was a tiny puddle of oil in the middle of my battery cover which i think my mech spilled when he was changing me oil.
