small turbo air filter

besides the mushroom type hks one and the wiremesh that i have seen what other option can you run, im trying to keep it looking simple and i really dont feel like running a pipe to a cone, or even a regular sized cone i feel like would be too big for the t04b... ive been looking at several foam type filters but i feel that they'll disintegrate and cause issues ...any pics or ideas are highly welcomed...

Apexi.. been running one for 5 years.
Flows well and does not disintegrate

Would not recommend using it directly on to the turbo, it will only suck in hot air...

plus, dont go with a small filter, you need to match the cfm capabilities of the filter to the turbo.

Really you should get the filter away from the turbo and move it to somewhere there is a better air source, but I realize that with a big turbo there are packaging issues.

K&N has a catalog on their website which allows you to specify the dimensions of a filter and then it will spit back the filters available and their part numbers. That's what I did when I needed a filter to fit the available space on my GT40R.

+1 its easy, and you just copy/paste the K&N part number into summit or amazon....

i see but i was trying to get a tiny one for clearance issues, plus i was wanting turbo to look really plain with no extra piping... i think FMIC piping is more that enough plumbing , makes the 13b look even smaller than it already is

if you are soo concerned about the way the engine looks, weld the hood shut. its there for a reason. its there to make the car go, not to look great. shut it.

If you have the choice to be able to locate the filter somewhere that isn't the inlet of the turbo, then DO IT! Engine bay air is stupid hot. I'm still trying to figure out where my filter will go and as soon as I do, I'll be damn happy not to be sucking in that hot air.

If you want form over function, then build a show car that doesn't run and trailer it to shows.
