Arrow small 5/6 ports question

Ok my 6 port actuators are stuck open with screws. If i were to remove the actuators and leave everything else intact, would I be correct in believing that they would be stuck closed? I dont mind them being closed since im breaking in my rebuild and wont be passing 4k anyway. Is there any danger in having them half assed like this?

Well... yes and no

The six ports are small cans that sit in the front and rear irons that are open on the rear and have a window cut into the side neare the inner end. The actuators simply turn the cans so that the window so that it faces in towards the rotor, thus letting air from the manifold enter the combustion chamber.

If you take the actuators out... they should stay werever you put them... BUT, they COULD vibrate open.. You could take the actuators off and wire the servo horns in the closed position (the thing on the end of the rod that passes through the manifold where the actuator rods hook up to with the little link)

HOW are they stuck open with screws... says you have a 91 engine... did someone pull the actuator rod into the open opsition and drill a screw into the rod???? Because, normally, if you want them to remain closed, all ya really gotta do on a 91 is take the vac lines off (actually a pressure line...)

The previous owner of the engine cut off the nippple at the bottom and drilled a screw up into it to hold it permanently open. I have another set laying around but 1 is stuck closed, i might just put them on to assure they staqy closed till I can get a 2nd working one.
