Slight Problem

I'm looking at buying another 87 TII my friend has. $1000 bucks.

Car runs good. No Cats only a silencer and a cone filter.

Iv'e been driving it to work lately but tonight I was seeing how fast it could go. I'm at about 120 mph in 4th all of a sudden I see hella smoke coming out from the back of the car.

So I let off the gas and the smoke goes away. I get on it again and the smoke returns.

I get to work and the engine is shaking a little but is holding an idle at 800rpm (ususally at 1000rpm). I drive it around and it seems ok. But it doesen't feel like my FC.

Is it possible that I damaged an Apex seal just a little or is there such a thing.

Is there any signs I should look for before I do a compression check.

I guess I 'll have to but it now any way....

It should sound like a lawn mower and have a rough idle. It is possible you blew the turbo.

.

i hooked up a guage to measure how much boost I get.

When at idle it is @ negative 10lbs. I'll accelerate slowly and it will go lower to like negative 30lbs then at some point it will rise back up to 0lbs.

This is all at idle.

.

I tried the above on my FC and when at idle its at negative 30lbs and when I hit the gas it goes to 0lbs.

I know mine is normal. So does this lean more towards the bad turbo or taxed Apex seal.

I'm going to do a comp test tonight.

BUMP

Ok so now the car is fine-sort of....

Would it sound like a lawn mower and have a rough idle if the turbo seals crapped themselves?

I haven't checked the spark plugs itself but I know I'm getting spark because I hooked up a timing light to each wire and I'm getting a spark to each plug.

I feel no kick once I hit 4k.
Is it possible that the secondary injectors are not coming on?

Would I still get manifold pressure up to 10lbs if the Turbo Seals are bad like mentioned above by -White_FC

It boosts fine. As far as manifold pressure is concerned i'm seeing up to 10lbs. Could this be possible if the Turbo Seals are bad?
