slight hesitation

i just replaced my spark plugs and wires for my 88 rx7. it used to idle real low(around 500 -600) now its at about 800-900. but now when ever i hit 3600 RPMs, it feels like someone taps the brake and then it accelerates out pretty quickly. any suggestions?
