Six Port Question
I know the air pump is for unburned Hydrocarbons and to feed air to the cats to heat them up quicker, but does it have any thing to do with the six ports functioning or not?
another thread about auxiliary ports,
that must the 3rd in a couple of days.
On S4 (you have an 88 right?):
The auxiliary ports open thanks to exhaust back pressure via the split air pipe
So, you don't need the air pump but you need exhaust back pressure (About 2psi)
check the threads about split air pipe and aux port
Note: s5 have a different setup for auxiliary port activation, so be aware of that.
Hugues-

Hugues-
I have an S5 NA with headers.
The ACV is removed so I had to keep the air pump and rig it with a crude pressure relief.
All the air pump exhaust stuff is out, so the exces pressure dumps right at the pressure relief.
It look like this: click here
And it purrs as the engine revs: click here
