single exhaust fc's come in here!

Those who have gone single, which exhaust did you cut out and which did you keep? driver side/passenger side? :) ...which looks better?

rx7 FC TII 04-02-07 10:25 AM

Corksport single driverside exhaust..personally i like driverside

87 t-66 04-02-07 10:26 AM

what do you mean "which exhaust did you cut out and which did you keep"? are you trying to modify the stock exhaust? i have the hks super dragger that exits on the driver's side

turn and burn 04-02-07 10:34 AM

Apexi N1 exits on the passenger side.

RB_eater 04-02-07 10:36 AM

I prefer passenger side otherwise everything seems to be on the driver side with the steering wheel and all.

bryanfc 04-02-07 11:19 AM

I have a custom 3" exhaust that came on the car from Japan, it exits on the drivers side (LHS in australia.)

Although I've heard you will get slightly less restriction by having it exit on the RHS, as there will be less bends.

Personally I prefer the look of it on the Left.

i got a used corksport exhaust for real cheap. thing is huge probably kill some of my low end. worst part about it is tring to find a cat that big 3 1/8 im gonna have to go 3in but anyway i think the duals look cool but i like how the single looks alot to, i think the passenger side would probably look nicer

there is absolutely no gains from dual. i have a single to the y, and a buddy has the dual and we cant find even a single benefit.

classicauto 04-02-07 05:53 PM

Pfft, passenger side exit is for fluffy FD boys ;) lol

Duals or D/S exit on my FC's....although they currently all have D/S exit custom singles.

MDD0101 04-02-07 06:26 PM

i like to keep the fc's how they are meant to be. plus it doesn't look good when theres a single exit exhaust with the empty space in the bumper where another muffler is meant to be imo.

has to be dual exit............ 4 inch down pipe to 2 three inch exits and only 95db at 4500 rpm :)
We need something to stand us apart from the FB's and FD's

-TAL- 04-02-07 07:52 PM

I've had both driver and passenger side single exit exhausts. I like it on the drivers side better though.

I win...

4in. Turbo back Mandrel bent exhaust... Drivers side exit.

Borla XR-1 4in. muffler 4-5in magnaflow tip, unknown 4in downpipe and 4in. resonater

RB Header, custom 2.5" Straight pipe to Magnaflow can, and a lobstertail turn down, Driverside exit, to damn loud but I've got earplugs so I'm good.

Already got noise complaints after no more than 3 drives though haha.

That is low, you obviously dont have speed humps where you live.
What spec do you have to warrant that size exhaust?

The passenger side of the car makes more sense to have a single exhaust on. Better weight distribution=better handling :icon_tup: .

Exactly. I used to have an Apexi N1, passenger side which I like more than driver side. But I didn't like the look of the empty bumper cutout.

3" dp, 3" race pre-silencer, 3" pipe to a 3" baffled magnaflow diesel race muffler w/4" tip.

it's for sale too! 7500! s5 89 TII

So do people just make single exhaust for looks?

I personally prefer the Dual...And since someone said that there were no benefits in going to a single exhaust I can't see the point.

RB header to 2.5 ss piping all the way to a single tsudo muffler with a 4.5 tip. i went driver side for 2 reason. #! the piping can be mad almost straight with no bends and #2 cause i think it looks good . when i it goes to paint i'm getting the passenger side cut out fiber glassed so it wont be there anymore
