simple question from a simple mind :)

heres an simple question for u, since i have the IC off now i thought i could just aswell clean it. so whats the best way to clean it?? can u wash it with water or will it rust?

also seen some ppl sparaying their ic, is that done with regular sparypaint and wont it mess up the ic to sprey right at the cells??

the best way I know of to clean an IC is to use carb cleaner, or brake parts cleaner. That way there is no residue. Don't use water, the only way all of it will get out of the IC is after you connect it and start up the car....water's no good for the engine unless injected controllably. As for painting the IC, this can cut down on the heat transfer rate, though probably not by much. I've also seen people powdercoat their ICs. I don't think it'll make that big a difference one way or the other, though someone may have numbers to prove otherwise.

so starter fluid same as carb cleaner right?

yes that was what i thought and since our ic´s arent very good to begging with....

I've heard people just put their ic's in a bucket of partscleaner and let it sit in their for a while and then take it out and alow it to dry for a while.

Just clean it with whatever you want. Degreaser, brake cleaner, carb cleaner, dish soap, etc. Take it into the shower and hose it down well, then let it dry before reinstalling. It's aluminium, so it's hard to make it corrode.
