Silver "Box" Behind Passenger Headlight?
What is it? It is a silverish box w/ cooling fins on the bottom. It is attached to the plate behind the headlight assembly, separating it from the engine bay. Can I pull it out to make a ram air setup? It says "Resistor" or something to that effect on it.

Not so good of an idea. Me and the electrical system do not get along well. (Really long story where I almost killed my car) Any other ideas?

Its the fuel pump resistor and relay - You might be able to move it by extending the wires, some people have evne removed it completely, but you need to know what you're doing, and the service manual is a must.

ok here's the skinny on that resistor for the fuel pump. It runs on two cycles low and high. That way, Mazda extends the longevity of the pump. Although some aftermarket units can't do that, and actually get burned up sooner than they should. So do you want to get rid of that thing and make some room? Go ahead and yank that motha out. Simply crimp ( you can't solder that wire type) those two wires back together, and you're back in bussiness. Now the pump (if stock) will run at a full 12 volts 24 -7 and get a little more fuel at lower RPM's. I did this before my RP fuel pump and it helped a bit. Now that i got a bigger pump, it doesn't really matter. Except that maybe i save a few grams of weight.
