Silicone hose

I bought some silicone hose from hosetechniques and did most of the major re-hosing in the engine. My question is what is not okay for silicone hose. I know that motor oil will eventually be absorbed by silicone hose, but what else should I not use silicone hose for?

silicone hose is best used for vacuume and boost lines, i'd stay away from fluids, except of perhaps windshield wiper fluid

Keep it away from gasoline and oil - all it does it make the hose swell.&nbsp If you have it constantly exposed to petroleum products, then it'll fail, especially with hot, pressurized oil.&nbsp With that said, do NOT use it for oil or fuel lines!

Also, keep it away from touching any exhaust pipes.&nbsp Yes, silicone can handle high heat, but it cannot handle touching hot exhaust pipes!&nbsp It turns to dust - don't ask mw how I know...
