sigh wrinkled front bumper...
is this a common problem? should I ever expect to have a bumper that isn't/doesn't wrinkle? about how long does this take to happen and what causes it? thanks.

notice the reflections have a "wave" to them
yes I know everything is dirty including the car... that will be fixed.
edit: guess I should have rotated... oh well... its head tilting time.

o..ok yeah thewaves...my dad's miata did thet too. it's probably becasue the car is black and retains the heat thus heating the bumper.....my guess. his miata did the same thing.

It's urethane, of course it's going to be wavy!! You can "fix it" but there will be a TON of bondo and sanding involved. Check out most aftermarket urethane bumpers or side skirts, even some blends of fiberglass (urethane injected etc...) and from certain angles they look terrible bc of how wavy the pattern is. Personally, I like urethane bc the material can take some impact before it's actually damaged, it flexes and won't crack like fiberglass. Yours looks normal for the age (likely looks worse after 10 years of heat from the sun etc...). OEM urethane these days is best IMHO since I see expensive aftermarket stuff that just looks horrible!! We got C-west side skirts for our 350Z project car and had to spend about 4 hours a skirt in application of icing and filler + sanding to get them to look decent from all angles and they were $750 for the pair!!
