Should i buy these?? need some advice

My brothers friend is going to sell me two ported turbo 13bs that need to be rebuilt. this includes transmission. he wants 1100 is this a good price?

why do you need 2?


if its a turbo II motor id buy the motor and trans for 500 and get it rebulit.

It is hard to say. What condition are the housings and such? I mean you may buy the engines, tear them apart, and find out rotor housings are completely shot... So now you are spending like lots of money for new housings or trying to find some good condition used housings.

There are a lot of unknown variables here.. but 2 turbo transmissions -if they aren't junk, shift smooth ect.- make for a good deal. I wouldn't want to buy a ported engine if it needed rebuilt unless you know who did the porting.. there is a possibility one of the irons could be bad. and who's to say u could just use the other engine for parts interchangeably, they might not have the same porting geometry. this is just scratching the surface on different worse case scenarios.
