Should i buy this FC?

right down the road from me is a gold colored rx-7

i'm not sure if its a base or luxury model.

but its an automatic, hase damage on the front right fender, the maroon interior is in magnificent shape, and the moron of an owner says it has a "waste gate" problem

not the case as its an n/a

so god knows whats wrong with it

but it has no title

would it be good as a parts car or if i could get a salvaged title on it?

he wanted to sell it for around 300 dollars last time i checked

I'd buy it as a parts car. As far buying it to drive it? Automatic.... yuck.

you need a title to make a salvaged title. does it run? since there is no title it's really only good for a parts car. I just got an 88 TII for FREE w/ no title, therefore it's a parts car now, still got the owner looking for the title because it has a very clean body with no bad rust. I'd talk to the guy and visually inspect it, if it looks good and the motor still turns offer 200

yeah he refuses to start the car, he still claims it has a wastegate problem

the guys a moron

one day he said it had no title, the next he said it does.

but either way, aside for the damage on the front right fender, its in magnificent shape

no rust, the interior is almost flawless, very little paint damage.

it was owned by an old woman and she kept it a garage baby. thats also why it was auto, she couldn't drive standard

here is what i have to say about automatic fcs:

when i was in high school, I had an '80 GS and my brother had an automatic 88. I had a 230 lb passenger in my car and I outran my all-alone brother from a stoplight. Gold FCs are ghetto anyway, but for $300 it would be a great parts car.

go for it, especially if the interior is flawless, there is always something you could use inside and out.

i'm pretty sure if he would let me try to start the car, then i could figure out if the engine is worth anything.

its close to needing a rebuild, but he has all records of maintenance, and its been well taken care of. he backed into it and damaged the fender.

so it happened since he's had it.

but i've never saw an s4 with maroon interior thats in that good of condition

If it's a 5-lug model, it's either a GTU, GXL, or Sport... Either way it's worth alot more in parts... If it's a 4-lug I would try to see what's wrong with it... Non running base model = worthless...

you said wastegate problem, I didn't think that they made turbo automatics. I baought my 88 t2 for $275 no ****. Of course the motor was fucked so I bought an Osaka special and a microtech lt-8s, should be good to go. IGold and burgandy is just nasty. I wouldnt do it.

it has a maroon interior = basically worthless
it has damage exterior parts = worthless
its an automatic = worthless (manual conversion = PITA and expensive)
4 lug with single piston brakes = worthless
open n/a diff = worthless
no title = worthless chassis
only thing that might be worth anything is the engine, but you cant even verify that it runs, so it might be worthless also. Maybe you could find some of the rare maroon interior lovers and make a few bucks of some plastic pieces (if you can remove them without shattering them), or other misc. crap, but overall I think you you'd be lucky to break even by parting it out.

Buying this car for any reason would probably be a very, very poor choice.
