Should I buy?
Should I buy?
http://miami.craigslist.org/pbc/cto/1800022080.html
I called the owner to let him know if I can check it out tomorrow.
But, I would like to get some insight from the pros here. Looks like a steal in my opinion.
Of course I will be asking questions regarding the car while I'm there. So would it be worth checking out?

Post in the SE section of the forum and ask for an experienced rotary person to accompany you to see the car. If the condition of the interior is an indication of the way this car has been taken care of I would be very cautious.
Thanks, sorry for the posting this in the wrong section. Good thing I know someone experienced with Rotary's =)
This isn't the wrong section, but the regional sections could help you find some locals that may be able to help out. It's hard to say how "stock" the car really is considering the stuck headlight "sleepy eye mod" and aftermarket exhaust. With the low asking price, I'd expect to find something wrong.
Here are some good sources of buyer's info:

Black interior is cool.
Chances are it was beat on judging by the mods and sleepy lights, so it most likely wasn't taken care of like it was owned by a 60 yr old doctor...
But, look it over and compression test it, and if it looks good buy it!
I would not expect something that will require little to no work to get it into good driving condition. However, I would highly recommend giving this article "How To Buy An '86-'92 Non-Turbo RX-7" a look if you follow Aaroncakes advice you should know fully if this is a worthwhile car for you. Hope that helps I know it did for me when I bought my first FC.

"just in time for summer" the florida heat is ridiculously hot! the engine is gonna overheat and blow up! lol
but yeah get the compression numbers, judging from the looks it was probably owned by a younger person who beat it. and with 113k miles (not sure if its been rebuilt though) it could go. but hey if it has low compression, get it for like $600! lol

We can't tell from pics, except that the interior is messy. Try www.kbb.com for common prices. Have a mechanic check it out to make sure it works and/or try one of the buyer's guides in the FAQ or google or above link.
$1200 is well below Blue Book which suggests one of two things. One is he's just trying to get rid of it, in which case you're lucky and simply need to change out all the old fluids. Or there's one or more things wrong that need fixing that aren't in the ad, in which case you really need it checked out. So yeah, have it checked out.
