Arrow should i

I have an 86 n/a with an aggressive street port and an overhaul c kit for a rebuild but i am about to get a 9.5 prolite flywheel and a 6-puck act clutch. My question is should i also get the counterweight that the rx7store offers or can i just use my stock counterweight. thanks.

If you're going with a 6-puck and planning on doing a lot of street driving.. I'd seriously consider getting the 11.5Lb flywheel... it makes starting at lights a lot easier.

Now as to the counterweight... you have to use an rear counterweight from an Automatic of the same series car, if you already have a lightweight flywheel, then yes, use the one you have. If your car is an Automatic and you are doing a clutch conversion, then yes you can use the counterweight that is already on the car.

If you're car is a 5-speed with the stock flywheel, then you will need to get the rear counterweight (its built into the stock flywheel, automatics have a flex plate and a seperate counterweight, the lightweight flywheels don't have the engine counterbalace built in, therefor, you have to use the counterweight from an auto) .

my car is a 5 speed but i have a counterweight already that was underneath the flywheel my flywheel cant be aftermarket cause i just weighed it last night and it was 21.5lbs so i dont know but if i have a counterweight already then i dont need one the website (rx7store.net) is just suggesting it cause usually a 5 speed doesnt have one and the prolite doesnt come with a counterweight i see. i will have to take a pic of it later to show you what i am talking about.
