Smile short shifter

can anyone tell me what types of experiences they have had with short shifters .......and where and at what price they paid... im looking 4 one and i found a price range from 192.00 to 285.00 one being from mazdatrix and the other from rotary performance..thanx

You can get a newer shifter out of a 89-91 in a junkyard. Than can be grinded down, so you determine how short your shift is.

my 88 had a two piece

i just took the top off and got an after market ****. it takes alot of cussing, but it will come off. made it about 1/4 the original length

a stock 89-91 shifter will be shorter throw then yours. I have sat in and shifted a car with the mazdaspeed one and it felt pretty nice (didn't drive it, it was in a shop not running)

but I've heard they can make bad rattling nosies that you can't fix.

yeah i read that in an article that said like one in ten dont make that rattle noise and no one knows what causes it thanx
