shimming the tie rods

hey i have new tierod ends....i wanted to shim them like RETed said a whiles back to get some more angle......but i was uncertain how many or how far off i should shim them? thanx

You need to take the tie rod ends off of the steering rack.
It's not easy.
You'll need to remove the boots carefully - if you damage them, you need to replace them.
The twist wire ties can be reused, but they can be broken very easily.
After all of that, the front end needs to be realigned back to factory specs, so I hope the alignment shop is close by?
