Is the shifter supposed to feel like this?
So we can all be friends again? lol
TIIs are slow in stock or mildly modified form too, so don't sweat it. I think the idea of "fast" might be different where I come from, though. We get 9 second cars driving to the street races and 7 second trailer queens waiting to feed. I thought my TII was pretty fast until I got walked by a Dodge Shelby Charger turbo...it was like I was standing still. It's all about what you want from your car and how much you can spend...I want a lot, but college takes almost all of my money.

Here, it is a college town. Mostly pretty boys in SUVs, ricers, and stock Stangs. I pretty much can take most cars that pull on me. Yes, there are the rare Paxton blown 5.0s and N20 sloshin Si, but it is few and far between. As my best bud says, my car is not super fast, but it is very quick. Yes, we can still be friends!! ANd Abecx, when I get my next Rex, give me a month to tune it, and we will duel!! Oh, BTW, good luck with the shifter!!!
Hey Abecx,
I'll take that poor, poor turd of a N/A RX-7 off your hands for $100. That's awfully generous considering what a horrible grocery getter of a turd it is.
I mean look at it, it can BARELY seat 2 full size american adults comfortably. It gets rediculous gas milage (15mph). It deosnt even run ( i assume). The shifter brushings are shot. It has other electrical problems. It sounds like a chainsaw. It doesnt even have a LSD! It has as much torque as a lawn mower and you wont be anywhere NEAR as thrilled drving it as you would in your 5.0. It'll seem like a minivan for acceleration - turd.
So, offer still stands, $100 to take that POS off your hands for ya.
PM me if you're interested.

Um, well, my ex g/f has a 96 V6 w/ a stick, beat it. An old enemy of mine has a 1991 GT with Flows and an aflermarket x-pipe and I had no trouble tosting him. A N/A will have less than 0 problems beating a V6 Stang.
Well, he is doing a dran good job of it!! I am not gonna fret any more. I can beat just about all I wanted in my Rex, and my next one will be even better. Can you say nitrous oxide and full exhaust for starters?

Point is: WHO CARES!
Who cars about a 9 second honda lol, that engine will be in a gutted interior and everything. Imagine being able to drive around on the street with a 9 second all motor car that can pull your 3000# vehicle anywhere. Ya'lls anwser to power is removing seats, sound deadning, etc. And a 99+ v6 mustang will eat a n/a rx7.
I don't get you rico...you give me **** for saying an N/A is slow, since straight line driving is for idiots, but now you're talking about beating cars (in a straight line, no doubt) and getting N2O with a full exhaust...which won't help you in the slalom or on the skidpad. What gives?

when ford made the v6 mustang it was to be a big seller for the female market, a slow mustang that still had the looks of the "big power" lol, mustangs.
Yes, and if you would take the time you have devoted to it and:
1. Walked down the road picking up POP bottles and aluminum cans for money, you would have had enough money for a new set of shifter bushings overnited to you.
2. you could have installed them and be out LEARNING about your RX7
J/K of course!

Hey, AbecX, read my post in the Single Vs. Dual (sorry about the mispelling) Exhaust Thread.

I already ordered the shifter bushings
I think I am just going to turn around and sell this car and make a good profit out of it, hell $250 + new battery, some ATF and b12 for the gas tank, $10 for shifter bushings = $300 tops. I could probably get $1,500 for it.

Ziggy, I've never autocrossed in my life, and you've obviously been at the course a few times. Thats like me asking you to bring it to the track and lets see who wins
