shifter resevoir?? fluid??

i was wondering if nebody knew what kind of lube to put in the resevoir that the shifter drops into??? not sure of the exact name

are you talking about tranny fluid? you have to pump that into the side of the tranny, NOT into the shifer.

I think he's talking about the extra peice that the shifter sits in. It's separate from the tranny.

You can use the same 90W gear oil that goes in the tranny to fill up the shifter thingy.

I always grease up th shifter ball and then put a little transmission fluid into the resevoir. Only fill it about 20%, otherwise it's going to make a BIG mess when it all comes out through the shifter opening. In fact, I got into the habit of running them dry for this reason...
