The shifter has fluid?!?!?!

Can anyone confirm this? I feel like an idiot. What does this fluid do? Could this be why my car is a tad difficult to shift? It's not the synchros... they're good (incredibly)... it just takes a bit more muscle than my brother's talon to shift... i always wondered why.

It's actually manual transmission gear oil. Check the how-to on the shifter bushings at www.mazdatrix.com for more info.

The shift is lubed separately from the tranny.
