shift up light on 5th gear!!!

shift up light on 5th gear!!!

as simple as it sounds. on 5th and the shift light comes on. wtf is goin on.. i tried to do a search on this but i didnt get anything specific enought explainin it.

does any one know what up... thanks rx7club...

yeah just make a decal that says "Give it Hell" and stick it over it so when it lights up is says something cool.

Put a meter on pin 1I on you ECU. With the key to on you should have 12v in any gear but fifth (over the top). When in fifth gear, you should have less than 2 volts....because when you shift to fifth, your over the top switch on the transmission puts a ground on the wire that goes to pin 1I. It also puts the same ground on the Split Air Solenoid. You might find it more convienient to go to the Split Air Solenoid on your ACV, pull the plug off and see if you get a ground signal when the shifter is put into fifth. Sorry, forgot the color of the wire. There's only two. One is black/white. That's not the wire, its the other one of the two wires. See the online fsm for the color.

There's two switches on the transmisssion. The one on the right is the neutral and the one on the left is for the over the top switch and the reverse light.
