Unhappy shift **** too high

i am replacing my original shift **** with a momo ****. unfortunately, after installing the new ****, the shifter is way too high. i thought about having someone cut about half an inch off the shifter. would this post any potential damage to my tranny? i am new to this forum and any assistance would greatly be appreciated.

I dont know why it would damage the tranny, I bought a mazdatrix short shifter and a momo ****, and JB welded the **** onto the shifter, works great.

i just want to ensure there will be no damages once i decide to have the shifter portion cut. the short shifter would be ideal, but it's not in my budget at this moment. hopefully in the near future. thanks for the advice.

the best cheap short shifter is your stock one cut.. it wont hurt your tranny .. but i will tell you it will take a lil getting used to .. i put on in my other car and the first time i went to shift into 2nd i pulled a lil too hard .. heheheh it goes into gear a lil quick and the throw isnt as much .. be careful but you should be fine after a quick drive youll get used to it quick.

hack saw
universal ****
and vacuum cleaner <-- to clean up the shavings.

your good to go
