Shift fork questions
Hi guys, I'm having trouble with my new(used) T2 tranny not going into 1-2 gear and I I've narrowed it down to a bad, broken, or bent shift fork. At first I thought to rebuild the entire tranny for peace of mind but as I started looking at rebuild kits (which didn't seem to include shift forks) I realized I don't wanna spend that much might as well buy another tranny.
So my question is I still have my NA tranny could I just pull the shift fork out from it and replace the T2 shift fork?

Check the pivot ball behind the shift fork and make sure the hydraulics are bled. The pivot can bend or break after a lot of use. I've seen that be the issue before the fork itself bends. Our clutch slaves go out in time and also cause issues. Is yours in good shape?

look in the parts catalog, its @foxed.ca they are probably going to be different. the forks aren't too expensive actually, $30 each, however the whole trans does have to come apart to change them, so you might as well do the full rebuild.
also the forks are cast iron, so its not likely to be bent, more likely worn
