Settings for a "new" Super AFC

I have an 1986 Turbo II with Exhaust and Intake and I just added a Super AFC. I would like to know what the settings should be as far as HOTWIRE or FLAP. The car runs better on HOTWIRE but the manual states FLAP. I don't know how many sensors I should have, in or out. Any help on setting this AFC is appreciated.
