Set timing WITHOUT jumper or factory harness
I need to set the timing on my 1991 RX7 race car and I have a completely custom harness and factory ECU. I don't have a check connector nor anywhere to jumper the wiring to tell the ECU to not adjust the timing while idling.
I have the procedure on how to set the timing, but I don't know how to set the jumper when that jumper doesn't exist. Can I do anything with the ECU pins to set the jumper?
Should I instead just set it to the yellow mark, reset the CAS to the notch, re-insert and leave it at that?
Thanks,
Chris

destroy, rebuild, repeat

as long as idle is below 750 rpm, the timing will be -5L and -20T so you can set your CAS to the right angle. The check connector is just used to turn off the BAC valve and get your idle down to 750 rpm
if your idle is too high, the timing will jump up to like +14L and +14T, zero split. so check L1 and T1 and if they are hitting the same spot on the pulley (zero split), you idle is too high to be able to set timing
L1 should hit on the right most mark looking at engine from front of car, T1 should hit on left mark
