Serious Problem
Hey guys, I was driving the 7 down the road and it just dies. I try to start it back up and nothing. I pop the hood and find my BTN and EGI fuses blown. I replace them and try to start it...still nothing. SO I figuired it might be flooded, so I push it down a hill to try and push start it...again, nothing. I sit there looking under the hood trying to figuire it out. When I turn the key the starter clicks but doesnt turn the engine over. Also, this is wierd, when I use anything electrical the car cuts off. Like when I have the car on accersories (to where the raido or what not is on but not the engine) and I hit the brakes, the door lights go off, or if i roll the windows up the power gets cut off. Im guessing it s a ground but im not sure. Im really getting tired of these ******* cars never running right. If anyone has any ideas PLEASE let me know what you think.
Also, when i looked at the BTN fuse it was melted...it looked like it took quite a hit...if that means anything. When I crank the car it clickes then loses all power, the door lights turn off and my radio turns off. Same thing happens when I push the brake pedal down

Former Moderator. RIP Icemark.
sounds more like you have done some modifications that were done improperly and have wiring issues.
The Blown fuses, multiple bad alts and multiple bad batteries are symptoms of other issues, for example such as a bad light switch because the bulb sockets were not maintained, or a bad/battery alt, because an aftermarket stereo or alarm was not wired properlly.
and an Exploder at 50K miles will have more problems than a RX-7 at 100K miles

Alt is new and the battery is new. only thing we did to the car short of the engine swap was the tranny and radio, which i have done 5-6 times.
And my father has a explorer, had about 65,xxx on it and has yet to **** up in the 5 years hes owned it, while I have driven my car for maybe a month, and has already proven to be like any other RX-7...a piece of **** that runs good about once a month, while the other days are spent saving up money to fix either multiple small problems...or 1 large problems.
