Series 5 auto to five speed...transmission harness replaceable?
So ive completed my S5 auto to five speed swap (car is an original S5 GTU) long ago. It now has a Jspec turbo engine and trans.
When it comes to wiring up the reverse lights, theres a few guides that focus on the five speed tranny to the auto tranny harness.
My question is, that harness that connected to the auto tranny that is on the car, does it have a point in it which i can disconnect it and connect a five speed one instead? Obviously i can retain the one on there, but I don't like the extra AT plugs just sitting there.

pretty sure you cant disconnect it down the line.
you could get some big heat shrink and shrink wrap it.

Do what I'm going to do, take the harness off of your automatic transmission and splice it into the manual transmission reverse signal switch.
Snip the harness connectors off of the auto
Look at the wiring diagram for what signals the reverse lights to turn on in an automatic car
Use that plug
Splice that plug into the wires for the reverse light switch in the manual transmission
Take a break and know that other people now know when you're backing up
