sensors on rear windshield?

sensors on rear windshield?
I feel stupid for asking this, but I was wondering what the 2 devices on the left and right of my rear windshield are. Im thinking of removing it since im thinning out the wiring I don't need back there.

You're probably referring to the power for the rear glass defrost grid.
