sensor question

What is the sensor on the engine right by the pressure cap. Not the double wire but the single wire by the upper radiator hose. Is it the variable resistor or is that some where else?

Oh yeah another question, if the o2 sensor wire got grounded out by the comp instead of a ground what kind of adverse affect will this have on the comp?

E-Fan Sensor.
