Security alarm
Today is the first time I've seen this forum, so maybe this has already come up.
I have a 1988 RX-7, no turbo, manual tranny.
My security alarm goes of for no reason. Never does so when the car is running. Does so randomly when parked, whether the alarm has been set or not, whether the doors are locked or not.
Anybody had this problem?

Disable it?? All for it but never done it. One thing I know for sure. If you pull the plugs off the theft unit.....it won't start......because of a STARTER CUT RELAY, located more or less under the Trail Coil assy.
This relay does not exist on a non theft device car. BUT the plug to the relay, has a jumper in it. The jumper bypasses the relay by jumpering the BW and BG wires in the plug. That gives you a path to the starter once you turn the key to START and put the clutch pedal to in.
You might try this for a lark and see what happens.
The starter cut relay's plug should be a six socket plug with two sockets empty. Should have two BG(black green) wires, a BW(black and white) and a LgY(light green and yellow) wire.
