Secondary Injectors - Vertical Play?

Hey guys, should the secondary injectors have any vertical play? It moves up and down about 2mm. All the grommets and 'dust shield' and o-ring is on correctly.

I had to replace the o-rings after narrowly stopping a engine fire when the o-ring decided to fail and squirt fuel everywhere, including that nice and hot ex. manifold.

The primaries don't have any vertical play, thats why I'm asking.

You shouldn't have much, if any, play in that direction. If you have new upper & lower grommets, then look at maybe some form of displacement in the fuel rail when it was bolted down. If your grommets are old & heat stressed/ brittle, that might be your problem right there...You don't want your o-rings moving much in the rail bore, or an early failure could happen...

No, the grommets are old, only thing new is the top o-ring. I didn't take out the air mixer plates or anything, so those O-rings are probably original. I'll end up replacing all the rubber, but for now I just need to get it running.
