Seat removal

Is it really hard to replace the seats in an FC? Anyone got some simple directions? Got some new ones on Ebay and want to replace.

nah its 4 bolts per seat, but the ones off ebay might not come with sliders so what i would do, is take the sliders of your current seat and weld them to the bottom of your new seats

Step 1: unbolt seat (theres 4 bolts)
Step 2: remove seats,
Step 3: bolt in new seats

Its a peice of cake, should take 10 min if the new ones line up
Hey bryon, where in Hawaii you at?

Just hope you don't have any bolts that are rusted to the body. I have been lucky but I have seen people struggle for hours doing a simple seat swap. I would let them soak in penetrating fluid for a few hours just in case. But then again I doubt they salt the roads in NC.

Sometimes the seats can be tricky. It took me most of an afternoon to swap my worn 86 base's seats out for a set of TII seats. The two things that you need to watch out for are stripping the bolts and getting the holes to match up exactly right.

I ended up stripping one bolt on the passenger side while removing the old seat, so it had to be cut off. I had to drill a new hole and put a different bolt in there. Also, the seat rails didn't line up quite right so I had to have someone stretch it out with a crowbar while I bolted it in. Not exactly major problems, but just a couple irritating little things to watch out for. Last time I took them out they went in and out pretty easy though.
