Lightbulb Seat coushin swap

Im thinking about takeing my seats out, and swap the cushins*sp*.
The reason to do this, is that my passenger seat is firm like new, and ofcause im too damn cheap to buy racing seats which i dont need 99% of the time.

Have anyone done this, if so is it possible lol

Okay what i meant to say is: Can you take the seat from the passenger side and mount it on the drivers side rails??
They look the same..

technically its not hard to take the covers off and then replace the old cushion with something new. i can do it pretty quickly.....but ive done it a few times. the first time it takes awhile. you need to take the seat out of the car. then remove the slider tracks from the seat. then get a big allen wrench and youll need to remove the top half of your seat. then remove the plastic trim from the bottom half...it gets caught a bit on the recliner lever, but if you get it at the right angle it slides right off. now you have just the sitting part of the seat...look at the bottom of it...grab some needle nosed pliars and a long, but small headed screwdriver. you see those little metal things clamping the leather/cloth on? those are what you are going to remove with the pliers and screwdriver(unless you want to spring for the actual hog ring removal tool) youll want to remove the back ones and the front ones...and the side ones..this will allow enough room for you to pull back the parts covering the bolster...the cushion pops out, you slip on the new one...cover it back up...then get the new hog rings you bought, and the new hog ring tool you bought...you simply go in reverse order from the way you took em off...its very simple. its very intimidating when you start..but when your done youll kick yourself for not doing it sooner.

make sure you get the hog rings and hog ring tool before you start the project!!! unless you want to drive to the store sitting on the floor.

good luck and i hope you can understand what i wrote. dont let it scare ya...you cant break anything..its just fabric and little staple looking things.
