Question Seaming Welt for 88 Convertible

Does anyone have information on where to get the rubber seals for the Targa Top for just over the Windows?

Please search next time as this has been covered quite a few times. The search function is found in the upper right hand corner of the page.

Victoriabritish.com will have the seals.

Well, I did go to Victoria British, and these are not listed on the website....so if you think I am wrong in this matter please help me see the light. As I went through the Mazda manual to find the specific name of the seal. All Victoria British show are the door seals and not the roof seals..

Hey noob, the advise is the same as the last thread you started o this topic, its in the Victoria British Catalog. You have to order the catalog to order from them, its not listed on the web.

I ***/u/me that by windows you mean the door windows. Since your so lazy its on page 10 and repeated on page 91 part number 59-332 for the left and 59-333 for the right.

Lazy, ok I'm not going to start anything here. I did order that catalog a couple of weeks back.

When I started the "last thread" I was not aware of the specific part. Since getting specific visuals on it are near impossible, and victoriabritish.com only showed 59-356 and 59-357, I'm trying to find help from the so-called or self-called knowledge experts.

Thanks for HELPING, what would I do without big brother protecting me.

It works if you use the Advance search....funny though when you do a search for a seaming welt...not much information comes up about it....and nothing that would tell you what the heck it is....

I think Victoria British could make there web site more on-line friendly so sticks 'n stones don't get thrown in ppls faces

You need to get their catalog, not just the website.

Sorry if that was not clear

and seaming welt is what you put between fenders and bodies on older cars or the secondary gasket that has body color on it and the partial gasket around door openings. You want window gaskets or window seals. They ( the targa roof window seals) are not available on the victoria british website. You need one of their catalogs

Courtesy of http://www.iluvmyrx7.com/ and it's vast how-to's I researched the part name that I am specifically after prior to starting this post yesterday.

Based on the PDF from Second Generation/Things to read/Manuals/1986-88 Factory Service Manuals/ under the section Body (Section 14), on Page 14-69 it shows a breakdown of the roof system. And the item I am after in particular is "6. Seaming Welt". Which fits right underneath the weatherstrip by chance but is a seperate part.

So unless Mazda is on crack, that is what I am looking for...Maybe if/when Victoria British get their catalog up to me in the Great White North I can match up....

but thanks for your attempts, in the future I guess I'll have to put complete details of what I've seen and where in order to prevent confusion.

Never ever been considered big brother before.

After like five people refered you to BV, it might ahve been way simpler to ask someone who has a catalog (while your waiting for your copy) to post a pic of the page as opposed to whatever this turned into.

Answered your PM...

since the format of the page changed months ago it isn't as easy to do a search as before. I used to be able to find what I wanted most of the time. Now it's 50/50. Also, I was able to buy the same parts on Ebay.

Ok, let's get to the point. You are going to find some terminology differences between the FSM and the Mazda Parts Manual. Go to the link below, review or download the whole parts manual or the section with the vert top for your car. Identify the seal you want, internalize the Mazda name for it, and either order from Mazda or another reputable dealer.

BTW, Mazdatrix has the vert window seals here. They are usually less expensive than Victoria.

Thanks for the visual

Looking at that pic, it doesn't look like the part I need. ..It is outside of the seal, there is the track that is above the windows that this fits in the targa roof.....might only be a noice dampers or just trim...as the one I have just falls out when I drive...

Here are a couple of pics...The rubber is only 12 inches long....
