I have an 88 SE and my brother has an 88 GXL

His has the option to turn his sport suspension off or on but mine does not, but that made me think does mine even have sport suspension? or does my have crappy suspension?

 

Yours probably just has the bottom of the line suspension, I believe that the only cars that came with sports tuned suspension in the S4 models were the 88 GTU, TII, Sport, and I think that is all, but to be sure you'll have to find that options sheet that Icemark posts every were, that thing is pretty cool.

There you go scroll down that page and you will see the list of options that were available or came standard. Oh and I think I was wrong about the sport model coming with sport tuned suspension.

 

But (this might sound dumb) what does sport turned suspension mean?

I think overall mine still has really good suspension because it handles like a dream

 

Sport tuned is somthing like it is just a little or maybe much more stiff than the other RX-7's suspensions, also your brother doesn't have sport suspension he has auto adjust suspension. I don't know what the ride difference is because I havn't road in anyone else's
RX-7 before so I don't no if it is a ton stiffer. But I'm sure it does make a difference.

Yeah really if you both have the same horse power yours is probably faster due to the weight advantage.
