screw adjustment housing?

Hello all on my 88gxl, I noticed an adjustment screw which is mounted on the front side of the left shock tower just beside the pressure sensor housing. My question is what is this adjustment screw? what is it connected to and what purpose does it serve? thanks in advance-Ren

no what screw are you talking about TII?
the screw on top of the throttle body is the idle adjust but it only makes it higher or lower....if you mess with the idle adjust screw near the pressure sensor then your idle will go from smooth to irratic

please note that im not calling the parts by their right names or atleast i dont think i am...

Its the variable resistor. Sometimes called the rich/lean screw. Only effects the mixture at idle. See the free online fsm for how to adjust.

And its not on the front left strut tower area. Its near the right strut tower along with the boost/pressure sensor.

TURB0 II.....the tps is not for setting the idle. To set the idle, jumper the initial set coupler near the left strut tower and adjust the screw in the side of the bac. There are two places to get a free download of the factory servie manual. One is http://www.fc3s.org and the other is http://iluvmyrx7.com don't download the total manual, only the FUEL section.

Never use the tps to adjust the idle. Severe consequenses will follow if you do.
