What kind of voltage does your alternator put out? It sounds like it could be a bearing. Does it get worse with rpm? How long has it done this? Also do you have a aftermarket oil pressure gauge? If so what does that read?

haven't checked alternator out put, it only does it once it warms up, it goes away as rpm increases and it has only done it sense i put in a different motor, no after market oil gauge.

crazy old coot

^^^^^ Oh I don't really plan on a rebuild. If anything its gonna be a j-spec tII but still the fact remains that someone else fucked my car up(its like em having sex with my girlfriend).I cant blame my friend for dad letting them drive it.And me and my dad just really started talking to each other im 22 and if I jump his **** I fell that I will never be able to talk to him again. Its complicated Oh well I guess, I got the to4b Ive been planning to put on something and ss manifold all i need is a wg and injectors. If its done,, anyone need s4 n/a base engine parts?

Sory for double post but to op that sounds like a bearing outside the engine. Its too high pitched to be inside to me.It could even be a tiny exhaust leak whistlin dixe lol.................And another thing on my engine it would never rev to 8 grand bfore but now it does.Whats the oil pressure supposed to be a different rpms to be safe?Up top it runs like it used to idk

just when you think your luck cant get any worse.

any way found out it was my fpd leaking, so as i am pulling everything off to change it i drop the fuel rail spacer for the primary fuel rail into the LIM so yeah loads of fun for me to have come the time i try and get it out

Get a can of wd40 and spay at the pulleys see if it goes away. or it its a belt noise try taking a bar of soap and putting it on the belt as its running and see if that does anything.

It sounds too high pitch to be a leak. imo.

didnt read that you found it.

i thought thats what it might be, i could barely see it in the vid but i could tell it was pooling up down there. let me know if you need any injector o-rings after you tear the primarys off. i have an extra set. and im in town till monday afternoon. hit me up

Get a bottle of water with a sprayer. Spray around the UIM LIM till it stops making the sound. and thats where the leak is!
