Saw my first real live 7 today!

Well, I've been lurking these boards for a while and really have my heart set on a nice FC (going to look at one in yonkers soon). So I'm driving home from school today and next to the local transmission place is a MINT (I mean PERFECT) Blaze Red 91-92 coupe. I drove back and forth down a busy section of street at least 6 times to ogle. Other than one time when I saw a gsl-se in a parking lot, and I was too drunk to realize what was going on, this marks my first rx-7 sighting in about 6 months of looking.

Needless to say, today was the greatest day of my life.

Hehe. Its like love at first site isn't it?

By the way, there are no 92 RX-7's in the US, unless someone imported one on their own, it would be a 91.

Good Luck in finding a car and joining the crew

From what I understood ~100 were imported. Or were '91 models sold in in '92 as 92. The only reason I thought it could be was that the rims looked like 91 (they changed that year correct?)

yeah, there were FC's SOLD in 92...but from my understanding they were just left overs. i don't think any have "92" on the build date inside the door glad u liked seeing one though my n/a might be for sale in the spring if you';re interested, hehe

I'd love your n/a however, there seems to be plenty of competition and money isn't on my side, so I'll probably have to pass that one.

Yeup! Saw it on a Sunday, drove it home on that Monday! It was $4200, b/c it has less than 100k miles and a PERFECT interior, now the body is quite another story. All my fault, however!

I paid about $6000 for my nearly perfect 90 TII with 89K on the clock. 6000 miles and 7 months later and now it probably needs an engine.

Sucks to be me, but this means that I can start modding it heavily without as much worry!!! :-p

Well, I was going to tell you yesterday on AIM but my bro needed the phone and I was running late to a little rendezvous with the lady-friend...

Anyways, I'm waiting for AAA Plus to take effect (Free towing up to 100 miles). It was SUPPOSED to be in effect tomorrow, but some dumbass at AAA didn't activate it. So, now I have to wait til Friday to pick my car up as I cannot afford the $80+ it would cost to tow my car once back to my house, since it's about 30 miles away in Kentucky. :p

I'm willing to bet the farm on a stuck apex seal. Thusly, I'm going to try the ATF trick and see if that helps out or cures the problem. I'm hoping it does as I need to get around to work and to school. If anything my buddy is letting my borrow his Grand Prix which needs brake work and I'm going to drop a J-Spec in there (into my RX-7...not the Grand Prix).

At least my mom is letting me borrow her Audi A6 Quattro...

I wish, but the sad thing is, is that my TII is going to be daily-driver for at least until Summer. A T-78 is a big hoss for cruising around to school...I may as well do a 20B conversion.

*Now, why did I just say "20B Conversion"...I'm getting some very nasty and expensive ideas in my head!!!"

i saw my first rx7 in a lot of a err i forgot but it was a mechanics shop. it was for sale. it was a gtu, 88, baby blueish almost in color. it was going for 300 or best offer. bad break and torn up interior and a big *** dash on the driver side. it was there for about 2 mts. i remember one time.... i opened it and guess what.. it was unlocked. i tried popping the hood(the interior was so bad i almost pulled it off when i was trying to pop the hood) but i couldnt get the hood open. i sat in it for about 3mins and then i realized i could get in some trouble for this crap. so i went and i never saw it again. my second one was a silver FC crusing down by my girlfriends house. my third one was a silver touring FD driving down the highway and i spilled my mt. dew trying to catch a look at it. that was the first FD ive ever seen and it was only the back... it had circled lights and the sunroof was open. that was a magical moment just seeing the FD cruising.
