safc install now wont run HELP!

So I know there is a safc forum but noone really regulars it, so I am hoping this doesnt get moved. anywhoo
So I have a ser 4 turbo and just replaced a dead safc neo with a used safc 2. Wiring is correct, I set it to flap and 5/5. arrow is angled northeast and I have cylinders set at 4 (though I tried 2 and it didnt help). The car starts on the cranking fuel map but then dies immediately. When I hook back up the airflow meter wire to ecu (bypassing) safc all is well again. So clearly the safc is not sending info back out to the ecu.

Why would this be? any ideas? PLEASE HELP I havent been able to rev past 3k in weeks as I have no fuel control!

Honestly I would just rip the damn thing out..after reading thread after thread of "not working after SAFC install"..
BUT,I was inquisitive once and went to the Apex'i Site and they still have install PDF's that you can double check your work.
By the way have you tried on 6 cylinder?

ive had old safcs go haywire and not out put the afm signal and had to chuck it.

are you sure you didn't mix the wires up on which one goes to ecu and which one to the sensor?

4cyl is the correct setting on these and the flapper 5/5 and north east sounds correct

you could try going into the monitor setting and see what the AFM readings show in the SAFC, and try wedging something in the afm to keep it open and see if it actually is registering any change on the safc

an Rtek 2.1 would be a better idea for tuning as u can control timing as well.

May need to add more fuel on main map. Starts on cranking map due to more fuel added. Stops adding extra fuel, dies.

thanks for giving me your input guys, I appreciate it. The wiring was definitely correct, I checked like 5 times. Long story short I bought another used safc (this time a neo version as I had before), and voila it ran fine again. So that sacf I had purchased used a couple weeks ago was/is toast. Pisser. I spent 120$ on it and when I texted the seller what do you know he said it worked fine before he uninstalled it. Oh well. Any one want a really cheap "monitoring device"?!

The good news is that I only spent 180$ shipped on a good condition used safc neo. They may not be the best tuning tool but for 180 its a good deal
