safc afm/afl problems
safc afm/afl questions
got a couple quick questions, hope you guys can help me out:
I installed an safc 2 on my s5 NA about a month ago and have always noticed that my afl readings at start up are as follows:
either 1.0, 1.1 or 1.4 at hot start up (with the ignition at on position)
and usually 0.4 before a cold start up.
is this common or the source of a problem?
i havent gotten a chance to get it tuned yet but my car is really sluggish on low rpm. It's also running extremely rich.. could this be because of a faulty afm?
i have a full racing beat exhaust from headers back and a custom 3' cold/ram air setup. my afm is connected to my cold air piping at a 30 degree angle pointing down (flapper side pointing down). the afm is an s5 afm so i figured this would be ok when i fabbed the piping.
thanks in advance,
chumma

i believe that in the S5, the angle in which the AFM points doesn't affect it's reading. AFM may be going bad. Not sure tho. I think there's some way to test your AFM in the FSM. Check it out.
