Unhappy Sad day in the rotor compartment

I had just adjusted the TPS, and bac valve for a pretty decent idle, and beat a C4 vette yesterday, then.....Today....

Ok well, I was coming home from work and I started the car, and it was idleing very bad at start up fluctuating from 1300-1800rpms, tapped the gas to hit 2000 and stayed there til it was warming up and came down. Drove probaly about 7 miles and.....

Then I was trying to make a pass, I was going slow in 3rd about 2000rpms, while still rolling slower. Shifted to 2nd and reved to no more than 3k and shifted to 3rd and heard a pop/bang as I got back on the gas and it was jerking REAL BAD!!! I though the car was going to fall apart. It would barely accelerate (felt like a dead clutch, jerking) So I drove it like that for maybe a 1/4 of a mile and then I was about to pull it over safely and the car immediatly died.......

Got it towed back to my house (yeah less than 2miles away...almost there!) and I check the compression... 85 psi in the front............0 psi in the rear

Now I have a dilemma, Since its a S4 TII, I wouldn't mind droping a S5 Jspec TII drivetrain, ecu and harness. For a couple of reasons, dual TPS, elctric OMP, better turbo, higher compression rotors. Draw back, unknown compression, and turbo conditon. Plus I am sure my turbo is probably damaged, so that would need to be rebuilt as well. Really the ONLY beneifit I can see from a rebuild is that is has zero miles.

I'd say do the swap, but dunno about doing a jspec swap. I'd just go with a local s5 rebuild

No compassion! You guys are cold! j/k

I have been doing some reading, well its hard searching when you cannot use TWO LETTERS!!! I cannot really fine anything about swapping a comlete S5 long block, ecu, wiring harness, maf into a S4.

I am sure it is possible but am I missing anything? Anyone know any links or people that have done the swap? I know there has to be a few people here.

dude, sorry to hear about your motor. Atleast you've got a good outlook on things, meaning what motor you want to swap ect...

I say just have your S4 block rebuilt. Probably cheaper. A j-spec should not be trusted without a re-build.

PS- The electric MOP is NOT better than the mechanical one. Limp Mode anyone?

i'd say go with the rebuild if your current internals have low miles on them, and do some good ol porting while your all up in that shiat

wow sorry to hear. Sounds kinda like what happened to my car.... I hope our results are not the same. I still have yet to do a compression test.
