s5n/a rotor housing on turbo

Ok I know that the n/a housings don't ahve the nessesary coolant passage that goes through the lower intake manifold and runs to the stock turbo. Has anyone ever used one of these housings and drilled a hole through the housing and made it work with a turbo application? Anyone have pics? Or any other ideas on where I could get coolant from so I wouldn't have to drill and make a recess for an oring and stuff? Thanks any help would be great

The NA housings also have a diffuser in the exhuast that could disrupt the operation of the turbo.

The exhaust diffuser is intended for noise control at the expense of a little power.
You would probably want to remove it.

The coolant passage interface has a counter-bore recess for the sealing O-ring.
Without that O-ring, RTV may seal OK, but you're on your own there.

just drill a hole on the housing, then drill a slightly bigger hole for the coolant to pass thru
are you only using one housing? just use that for the front!

I am using 3rd gen housing and they also don't have that coolant passage. I used the water outlet on top of the rear plate that went to the throttle body thermo wax assembly that I don't use.

been covered numerous times.

yes you can drill the passage, as SureShot mentioned the coolant port does not have a countersink for the o-ring so you either will have to have one machined in it or use RTV and hope it seals.

you can cut out the diffuser off the exhaust sleeve or leave it in place, it will hinder performance slightly but was mainly for noise suppression.

you can also take coolant from the AWS coolant port on the rear iron instead as mentioned.

I can just put in the exhaust sleeves from my turbo housings I imagine. But thanks for the input. And no i'm using both s5 n/a housings. I got a good deal on a set that is ported to judge ito specs. I may just use the AWS port because I have removed the AWS system anyhow. Thanks
