S5 WG Porting & DP wrapping

Finally got around to porting my wastegate. Took the advice from Sureshot and cut some material from the wasterflapper. I also decided to take a little material from the backplate. All this after I read what Reted about it might weaken the flapper. Oh well. Not much I can do now.

I also wrapped my new RB DP in DEI exhaust wrap. I did the same to my old Bonez pipe that was on the car for about three years. Sure didn't rust away Notice the wideband sensor and EGT up near the stock sensor

And the place I call a garage for now. 10'X20' storage shed. The people there are great and let me wrench on my car. I am working on getting a 10'X30'. Now that would be sweet!

The best part is the shed is about a two minute walk from my apt.

Why have you put a new O2 sensor right at the end. It needs to be at the top where the original one is. Why not just unscrew the old one and put ther new one in?

actually I would put it down there as well. First reason I would do that is because the heat isn't so high down there and second reason because if I didn't want to run it all the time I could just plug it up when I'm not using it. I would also get a inovative heatsink bung made for our higher heat engines.

Yeppers, that is why I put it way down there. Those L1H1 wideband sensors can't hack the heat these engines put out. I prob should have put it in the Y pipe. Dunno, still about two inchs further back than my old setup.

As for the porting job...look ok?

I ground down the flapper on top just a little. Along with me cutting away some metal on the back plate the flapper SHOULD open a little more.

So, can anybody comment on those ports? Are they big enough?

Your port & waste gate job looks just right.
That small amount of door back clearance cutting won't hurt the door or cap at all, but makes a nice improvement in flow.
Now you can set your boost without creep worry.

All this is like booze: a little is great, but too much & it all turns to crap.

PS: I envy your wideband & EGT...
