s5 wastegate gasket

ok....i got my s5 wastegate ported, and we noticed something while taking off the cover...

by the cover i mean the part you take off so you can acutally see the wastegate ports/holes...

anyway....does a gasket go between the wastegate cover and the wastegate?

seems like there would be a gasket there, but i cant find any info, and was wondering if that cover really seals well enough to not need a gasket?

No gasket from what I have seen, though I have never actually looked it up.

I think the answer is no. I ported my wastegate about a year ago during a rebuild and had the same issue but was told that you don't need a gasket there. It has been running for almost a year now without one so I guess it is ok.

(You are talking about the metal plate that bolts to the turbo itself and that the studs for the dp go through, correct?)
