S5 Turbo Manifold

Will an S5 mani fit an S4? I was looking on RotaryShack and saw they had a modified S5 manifold, one 88 with porting done and flapper valve removed, and the other 89-91 also modified the same. Will these fit an 87' T2? What does the flapper valve in the manifold do? The site says its worthless and sometime causes problems.

I would probably get the 88' manifold since Im getting BNR turbo soon and will obviously stick with my S4. Thanks

The S5 manifold will fit your engine, but you would also have to use the s5 turbo. I agree with your idea of keeping it and sending it to BNR for an upgrade, I've heard nothing but good things about their work.

I hope the one in the photo is not an example of what they sell, because that manifold is not ported like they claim.

What does the flapper valve in the manifold do?
It closes off one of the turbine scrolls at low rpm to increase exhaust velocity to the other scroll, which improves response and reduces lag.

The site says its worthless and sometime causes problems.
BS on both counts.

Yeah, that $200 would be well spent as you save up for the BNR upgrade.

yes the manifold sill fit any model s4/s5...the problem is on the hotsides of the turbo... invest that $200 in something else like fuel support or air intake/exhaust...if your car still looks like in cardomain stock as hell....all you will do with a modified turbo from bnr is create a lot more horsepower than you though with out supporting mods and have parts break all the time on you

answer your self this

do you have a FUEL CUT DEFENSER? or how about a clean cut full exhaust ? what about a intake.. or BLANKITTY BLANK fill in your blank
