S5 transmission lower bushing/metal cup ?'s

So i think im going to finally na-t my car in the next few weeks but my na trans isnt in great shape at all. Noisy throwout bearing or pilot bearing and bad 3rd gear syncro. Either way its gotta be changed soon

I have every little thing needed to do a TII trans swap into my car but i have this broken piece on my S5 TII trans that ive been saving for years

As you can see im missing a chunk out off the wall and there is no bushing. Looks like mazdatrix may have it but im not sure if its just the plastic bushing for sale or both? And lastly how the hell do i get it out? I can see a roll pin but dont want to tamper with it until i know what to do for sure. I prefer to have my trans swap ready before the na-t build. Thanks, Nick

O yeah i actually need one more part to complete this swap. A transmission crossmember. Can i use a S5 n.a crossmember or do i need a S5 TII one? Or maybe if im lucky i can use my s4 n.a trans crossmember on this?

Haha right? Well i guess i understand what to do. Seems mazdatrix does sell the "block"/bushing together. I will have to get that and a new spring, dont need the rest of the bushings because my other ones are fine. And if im not mistaken i need a S5 TII crossmember.

eh, someone else can hold his hand if he doesnt want to help himself. i gave him the quick answer to his question. why detail something that already has a write-up done for it that can be found with a quick search. if there is a valid reason i'd be happy to copy and paste info from the other thread.
Actually, i'll add some helpful threads that were found in a quick search...

What, People cant ask questions on a forum anymore? Thats the whole point of a forum!!! Im not going to reply to a thread from 2002 with my questions. I made this thread so its now stuck on the forum. Its nice for people to be helpful and said how to do things and whats needed and yadda yadda so the next person to see this thread will help them. I did a search last week and didnt get what i was looking for thus i made a thread this week.

198713bt, im not bashing on you just giving my point of view. Thank you for those two links and some info.

Why not swap the block between trannies and just buy new bushings?

And if the rod doesn't go far enough out of the way (i.e. slide in as if you were putting it in 2nd or 4th gear) to allow the block to slide out from the side (after removing the roll pin), just undo the bolts holding the shifter extension housing to the main case of the tranny and separate the housings so the shift rod moves further.

Very good point! So If i remove the roll pin and block then take the bolts holding the shifter extension housing out it should slide right out?
Because i tried to remove those 4 bolts then sliding it all off as one piece but it doesn't seem to want to move at all. I didnt think the block would be whats holding me back? Guess i will toy with it today. Thanks
