S5 T2 not working with Turbo ecu ..

So my car is an NA with an S5 T2 conversion (Japanese) ... the weird thing is its not working with the Turbo Ecu. The car will turn on but it will only run on one rotor.

Now if a 6 port ecu is used, then it turns on and runs (but the CEL comes on eventually and throw the car in safe mode).

Any reason why it would be working on the NA ecu? Maybe resistors somewhere?

Are you using the JDM ECU? I think I read somewhere that sometimes the JDM ECUs don't run right in the US, because of elevation or something.

Injector plugs installed wrong? Vac lines hooked up correct? Good grounds, etc? I have a jdm becu in one of my rx7s that works perfect. From what I gather...some work, some dont... I know the chipped ecus work fine....Best thing to do is borrow one and see if it runs on a us n370

It's the Jspec N374 ECU that rarely works properly on US cars. The problem also happens to be with firing the injectors on the rear rotor IIRC. Is that what you're using, or is it an N370?

The answer is yes, but do a SEARCH on N374 and you'll see your not the first one having this problem and also how others solved their N374 problem.

I'm just saying that if you go to the Search function of this site and put in N374 and search the second gen site, you will get several pages dealing with N374 with the same problem you have in your thread. You might see several other ways to overcome your problem. See attached jpg.

yep. get an n370 and you should be fine (assuming everything else is hooked up correctly).

+1 on the N370, I had the exact same problem with mine. I wanted to set the damn thing on fire since I didn't even have a spare ECU to test with.

I believe the only thing that can put the car in safe mode is a bad OMP and probably the AFM and MAP. The CEL should be on but it shouldn't be in safe mode with the NA ECU, it should actually run and drive somewhat normal.

get Knightsport chip off ebay and it'll work fine, they have the FCD programmed in too.
i've been running the KS chip an AFC neo for almost 2 years dynoed 313whp 289ft lbs last year with a jdm garrett hybrid turbo (stage 3 bnr)
cheaper and easier thantrying to track down a n370 ecu

since you're using the NA harness you should double check your injector plugs, on the NA harness the primaries and secondaries are paired together, as opposed to the turbo harness where R1 and R2 are paired together off the harness.

make sure you get it tuned properly cause my friends motor just leaned out with a microtech on a bad tune and he was about an hour away from his house!

What what the hell are you talking about running the n/a ecu and going into safe mode??? I am running the n/a ecu, and no codes but emissions. It runs and drives fine, no check engine light. Even for the o2 sensor.

So... you must of done something wrong. I ran the n/a ecu with 550/680 + safc and it ran great.

well i tried pulling codes and it wouldnt throw me anything ... so i dont know whats going on. groudned the green plug next to the strut tower on drivers side, and turned the key before it turned the car on. Nada .. yet i still have a solid CEL?

the only thing i could think of is that maybe some resistors weren't put on some of the sensors (im use to the FD). Or the OMP is bad

Did you ever try swapping the ecu with an A-Spec n370?

You can't pull codes in a normal fashion on a JDM ECU. You pull codes on a JDM the same way you do on a series four USA ECU.

Your problem is the N374. You need a USA ECU. Or do what FC3SDRIFT mentioned above, which is cheaper.
