S5 swap into HB Cosmo

Hey everyone,

In the middle of a swap into a 1986 Cosmo Genteel Coupe and Im having an issue.

It seems like my injectors arent firing at all. I am positive they are getting 12v, and the connection to the ECU on the light green wires has good continiuity. Any ideas why they wouldnt kick over?

Car has spark, and fuel to the rails, but thats as far as it goes.

sure the volts are still there when cranking?? try some noid lights..

Well, I guess the better question is, the black and yellow wire is a constant 12v source right? If thats the case, then yes, Im sure they are getting volts when cranking.

Gonna ask just to get it out there, man. You're sure it's not flooding? I figure it has to be something with the ECU or maybe a part of the harness you had to "make it work". It was running in the FC, so I really wouldn't think the injectors are bad.

Well, the EM part of the harness, I didnt touch in any way. I dont think its flooding because there isnt really much fuel on the plugs when I pull them, and I always remember when my FC was flooded, it still at least tried to start, which the Cosmo doesnt at all.

Just a suggestion. I had to deflood the FD I'm selling and it didn't even try to start. It would just crank and crank. If anything, I have 4 spare injectors and an ecu if you wanna try swap-tronics.

dont assume the wire colour holds constant power whilst cranking .. test ...

very often there issues with carbonisation of the ignition barrel contacts..that makes things not seem..

and some cars have a start solenoid with two pins,, the other hots the coils during crank
( and incidentally some early cars with points have something similar from the cranking relay to bypass ballast resister )

get a DMM .. test ..
