Alright I just got finished putting the s4 block on to the tranny and into the s5 91 body. I have yet to hook up the exhaust and throttle body starter etc.

All I did was block off the egr valve on the s4. And replaced the s4 front cover for the s5 front cover.

Now as far this actually working, well......Its anyone's guess. No wait, some people might know if this is in fact not going to work. Like the s5 ECU wont run the s4 block.

I say **** it. Lets find out.

What do you think? Work or not work?

 

i dont see why the s5 ecu wouldnt run the s4 block as long as you have all of the wires hooked up from the s5 motor on the s4 block so you can "trick" the ecu into think that its an s5 when its really an s4

--im doing almost the same thing exect im trying to get the s4 dash harness to work with the s5 ecu so if you have and plugs the plug into the ecu i need them pm me

Uh, I would be more then happy to do that for you but, when I took my s4 out of the 87 gxl I did it really really quick like.

I used a Sawzaw to cut the harness out. If its just the connector plugs you need I may be able to help you out there. But I'll have to look. The reason that I cut it out is because the gxl had a system wide electrical failure and I just don't trust Mazdas crappy wiring harnesses. So I decided it quicker to just scrap it.

I don't see any reason why the s5 ecu won't run the s4 either.

Especially after I take out my NATO issued stilleto knife and do about 20 clicks infront of the car.
