s5 to s4 rear sub frame swap?
thanks
i dunno why but when i got under the car to mount it up the 2 main bolts that go on the front(closer to front of car) dont line up with the subframe... its like an inch short...but its a heavy *** part so maybe i just neet to kind give it some "lovin"
im putting 300zx rims on my car... i think it should be mean

everything will be the same except the sway bars/links - S5 have shitty plastic "dog bone" looking ones, S4's have nice steel.
is this a turbo car? 5 lug? is the other rear a turbo? 5 lug?

my car is a s4... but the subframe is rusted out...it was a 4 lug but the s5 sub frame is a 5 lug. im wondering if the differential is different ? im having trouble getting it mounted up. both cars are non turbo
the problem is :after i get the two rear differential mounts bolted up i cant get the rear sub frame bolt holes to reach the rear sub frame studs coming out of the car. it is just short of reaching by about an inch. its there a trick to getting them lined up ? or is the differential shorter?

check to see if your differential mount points on the subframe are lined up. if not then you are prolly pressing the rear diff into the underside of the car and also holding down the subframe of the car that amount you need.
It may also be catching on the threads of the subframe bolts. also you should not bolt up the rear diff till it is all aligned correctly and everything is started for bolts and nuts... makes it a little easier.
I just installed the rear of my car and had many alignment issues just because of all the variables with the different bolts and nuts.
I hope this helps

thanks everyne for there input, yes the parts are the same just a bitch to get on, i did it my putting block under all 4 points and just building the blocks up , so it evenly went up into place, not a fun job alone...call your friends like 3 of em haha
I swapped the rear subframe in my 86 with a 88 TII, took 3 hours to drop both, swap, and reinstall, by myself. I've found that alining the 2 front bolts first makes the install go alot easier.
